Meet Captain Hogg
Captain Chandler Hogg is more than a fishing guide – he’s a Chesapeake Bay native with over 30 years of experience as a licensed captain and more than four decades navigating and fishing these waters. His deep-rooted understanding of the Bay’s seasonal rhythms means he knows exactly where to go and what strategies to use – no matter the time of year. In the winter, he tracks fish migrating down from the north; in summer, he knows how to find the spawning stock migrating up from the south. These patterns bring in full-sized, mature fish – and Captain Hogg knows how to help you catch them.
Whether you’re an expert angler or just learning the ropes, you’ll be in good hands. Captain Hogg has a talent for teaching and a knack for “tricking them into biting.” For him, it’s not just about fishing – it’s about creating a full experience. Raised two sons with his wife, he knows how to make each trip fun, educational, and memorable for families, tourists, and seasoned anglers alike.
Safety is a top priority aboard the Smokin’ Gun II, a 40-foot Coast Guard-certified vessel equipped with everything needed for a smooth and successful trip. With Captain Hogg at the helm, your day on the water will be more than a fishing charter – it’ll be a Chesapeake Bay adventure.
